Care and Maintenance

The following list of tips and tricks will help you keep your Lithops Studio
objects in good condition for many years to come.

Chains

All chains should be kept away from abrasive substances and surfaces.

Your pendants on stainless steel and 14K gold filled chains can be worn into the shower with no issues. To clean, just wash with warm soapy water to dislodge any oil buildup on the chains.

I do not recommend wearing your silk cord into the shower as it might speed up wear and tear.

Pendants

My pendants are mostly made with porcelain or stoneware clays and are safe to wear into the shower.

To keep the gold details on your pieces shiny and bright for long, keep them away from abrasive materials or substances. It's not easy to remove the gold on the pieces but it does happen over the course of time and might get thinner as it is continuously rubbed on clothing. Even our solid gold jewelry gets thinner with normal wear.

To clean the pendants, just use warm soapy water and a soft cloth to dry off.

Though the pendants are strong, they can break if knocked onto hard surfaces.

Pieces with small protrusions are especially fragile. When broken, the pieces can have sharp edges so please take note to be careful when handling.

Objects/Totems

To clean your totems, wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to dry off.

To keep the gold details on your pieces shiny and bright for long, keep them away from abrasive materials or substances. It's not easy to remove the gold on the pieces but it is definitely possible if it is purposefully done i.e using sandpaper.

All porcelain and stoneware objects are fired in the kiln to 1200 and higher so they are strong however they can break if knocked onto hard surfaces. Pieces with small protrusions are especially fragile. When broken, the pieces can have sharp edges so please take note to be careful when handling.

Metallic Lustre

Any work with metallic lusters ( 22k Gold, white gold, mother of pearl ) should be kept away from abrasive materials and surfaces so as to not damage the finish.

Any work with metallic lusters are considered food safe but NOT microwave safe. To clean, hand wash with warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.
